Is it possible to make a small profit by only using limited data? You may have heard of market depth. This refers to the order book or DOM (Depth Market). It also includes Level 2 and Time and Sales data.

Bookmap is a tool that allows you to visualize everything happening in the market depth. It shows the total market liquidity. This Boomap review will reveal all you need to know about the tool. First, let's find out if this tool offers any meaningful benefits.

What is Bookmap?

They are keen to set new standards in real-time data visualization. Bookmap strives to create a visual illustration of market data that is "deeper" with the greatest accuracy. This is achieved with an attractive heatmap functionality.

Tsachi Galanos, the CEO, explains the platform's name components. These are OrderBOOK and HeatMAP. The first version was released in 2014. Boomap, meanwhile, is a robust platform that allows visualization of market depth data.

Bookmap is the best charting tool out there. Many other tools are available, but none can compare to Bookmap. Not all charting tools are equal. Some people have already done the filtering or summarized of data in advance. Some only use data from ECN's.

For accurate analysis, 100% of the market data must be used. Bookmap is here to help. They visualize the entire market depth instead of filtering data. This Bookmap review will discuss the advantages and drawbacks.

Bookmap Features

Heatmap and Volume Dots

Bookmap offers unique features, "on board" for its platform. Heatmaps clearly show the dynamic of the order book, showing every change. It uses an easy-to-understand color scale. Warm colors such as yellow, orange, and red indicate the resistance and support levels.

The heatmap displays the order book and traded volume as of the current time and the historical average. This gives you a faster and more detailed view of market dynamics.

The volume dot is the second cool feature. It is very simple to understand the concept of volume dots. The volume dots are simple. Larger dots signify a larger volume, while smaller dots signify a lower volume. The sizes of the dots are proportional to the volume traded. You can toggle the dots on/off and adjust the sizes.

Iceberg Detector (LLT), Large Lot Tracker, and Iceberg Detector (LLT)

This unique feature lets you determine the limit orders with the highest order volume or the "big fish" in the pond.

Replay Mode

It records trading sessions in real-time and allows for replay analysis. As a result, you can examine the order book's development at your leisure. This may help you to find new strategies and ideas.

One-click trading

One-click trading allows you to trade from within the chart. Orders can be placed directly from the chart. For example, you can trade directly from the Bookmap chart with the highest subscription level. You can trade all popular order types, including OCO or bracket orders.

Real-time data

This tool is event-driven, and it is refreshed every 30 microseconds. Stock market data includes unfiltered "raw" data for all US stocks. It also covers Nasdaq TotalView (Nasdaq Last Sale) and Nasdaq TotalView (Nasdaq TotalView). In addition, subscribe to future data feeds.

Bookmap provides market data with astonishing accuracy. Traders can "zoom in" on:

  • hours,
  • seconds,
  • milliseconds,
  • Microseconds and even nanoseconds
  • Time ranges of nanoseconds.

Monthly subscription fees range from $0 to $99 per month. Market data subscriptions are also required. Market data prices vary depending on the subscription you choose.

Let's look at the Bookmap cost with some examples. The Digital Package includes Crypto-Trading. It is completely free. Bookmap and the data feed are free.

The crypto trading package provides a great place to start if you are interested in cryptocurrency trading. GDAX, BitMEX, Bitfinex, OKCoin, and Okex are all included. You know that trading cryptocurrency means high spreads. To avoid this, I don't day trade cryptocurrency.

Let's now take a closer look into the pricing packages for futures and stock traders. The pricing model for Bookmaps is very simple. There are two options: the Global Package or the Global+ Package. The subscription term is the only difference.

The difference between the Global+ and Global+ packages can be made using certain analytical indicators. The Global+ package gives you access to:

  • Large lot tracker
  • iceberg detector
  • advanced volume delta

Only the Global+ package is worth it to me. This subscription is the only way to have full market access. Any other subscription would be a restriction from the start.

How much will you need to pay for Global Plus?

Subscribe every month to get the Global+ package and market data for $99

The market data fees charged for stocks range from:

  • CBOE/EDGX (BATS), $59
  • $69 (Nasdaq TotalView / Nasdaq last sale)

Futures traders pay $29 per exchange, such as CME or CBOT. Subscriptions can become expensive because of this. Market data, regardless of the tool used, is always expensive. This is because exchanges require market data feeds—the tool provider.

Although I wouldn't say I like long-term subscriptions, they should be included in the Bookmap review. You can save 20% on yearly subscriptions. The annual package costs between $0 to $79 per month.

A lifetime package is also available. A lifetime package includes version 7 and the next major release candidate, Bookmap 8.

Connectivity Options

The only way to obtain full-depth stock market data in the US is through the Bookmap dxFeed subscription. However, the brokerage data feed can bypass the extra Bookmap market data subscription fees depending on your broker.

Rithmic, dxFeed, and TradeStation have supported market data providers. In addition, CQG Interactive Brokers, NinjaTrader, CQG, Interactive Brokers, and other crypto exchanges are included.

You should also note that brokerage data feeds don't usually contain unfiltered tick data. Interactive Brokers can be used as a data source. However, Interactive Brokers filters tick data. Bookmap's power is based on unfiltered tick information, so a subscription is necessary.

Below is a complete list of compatible data feeds and brokers, along with an explanation of which data feed you are allowed to use. Also, in what cases you can only use the API to send trades from Bookmap directly to your brokerage account: https://www.bookmap.com/knowledgebase/docs/KB-IntroductionToBookmap-Connectivity.

Avoid unnecessary expenses by using data feeds that you already have. It should be tested with Bookmap to ensure it works as you expect.

It is important to realize that market subscription may have a cumulative cost that exceeds the Bookmap platform subscription fees.

Bookmap Free Trial

Bookmap can be tested using crypto markets for free. However, the global Package and Global+ Package only offer stock trading and futures. Although there isn't a promo code, you can save at most 20% on your yearly subscriptions.

Be aware that this tool is only available for one year. Therefore, an annual subscription would not be wise. However, if they are compatible, you can still use the data feeds. If not, you will be charged additionally for market data.

Who is Bookmap best for?

Bookmap is the best tool for day traders, scalpers, and swing traders. It's for order flow specialists, tape readers specialists, and data geeks.

Beginners should first try the digital package, a free cryptocurrency mode. You will be able to better understand this tool by doing so. Once you're ready to trade stocks, you can start a monthly subscription.

You need to understand how Bookmap can be used on your trading day. Bookmap may be the perfect solution to all your trading needs. Bookmap might not be the best tool for you, but it could be an additional tool in your trading arsenal.

Trade-Ideas is my primary stock screener. In addition, Bookmap gives me great insights. This is especially important for visualizing support and resistance levels.

Bookmap Trading on Discord

bookmap Discord channel

Bookmap Trading has well over 11K Members on their Discord channel, and it happened that 1,672 were online on a Saturday night when we took this screenshot.

This is somewhat similar to a few of the trading software companies that we have reviewed and is on the high end of the size of their community. According to Bookmap, their educational part of the program alone has over 7000 members, so this size of the Discord channel comes as no surprise.

Bookmap Trading on Facebook

tradytics reddit

Bookmap Trading has a good following on Facebook. Currently their Facebook account has 2,414 likes and 2,654 people follow them. The company has a post that's pinned offering 30% commission for every referral if you bring a friend.

Otherwise it doesn't seem like Bookmap is posting much of Facebook anymore. At the time of this writing there is only one post for 2022. Otherwise the activity levels were lower than many other trading software companies that we have reviewed in the past.

Bookmap Trading on Facebook

Bookmap's Twitter presence is quite strong. The software company boasts 14K followers on Twitter, and has posted over 6,100 tweets. Bookmap Trading is fairly acting on this platform as well and has been on Twitter since November of 2013. They post quite a few screenshots of of the software at work, event notifications as well as retweet their followers.

Summary of Bookmap Trading Review

Bookmap is a leading platform for market data visualization and trading. Many traders are using extensive real-time trading capabilities. They trade on major exchanges like CME, Eurex, and NASDAQ.

Bookmap visually conveys market depth and makes it easier to comprehend. This is a great addition to Level II and DOM market depth visualizations.

You should also be aware that market depth frequently changes within seconds. Therefore, the visualization can be a great alternative to looking at a standard DOM.

Bookmap visualizes the market depth. In addition, the order book will help you identify support and resistance levels. This could be an addition to the technical analysis pattern identification.

The platform is reasonably priced, and the monthly subscription is the best. However, you will need a separate data feed for Bookmap subscribers (Global and Global+, futures and stocks).

This data feed is expensive. The brokerage data feed can be used as a source if you have a Bookmap-compatible broker. A data feed subscription is required for all other cases.

For those who are interested, the Digital Package is a great choice. Although I'm not a huge fan of cryptocurrency, the Bookmap digital package is a great way to learn about it. In addition, Bookmap offers a free demo account to explore the digital package. This is a great way to test the functionality. After reading this Bookmap review, the next step is to subscribe to the free account.

Bookmap review tip: Bookmap is compatible with Interactive Brokers, as mentioned above. You should know that Interactive Brokers uses filtered market data if you plan to use Bookmap as a data source. Bookmap will only display data from the source. You must ensure that your data is correct. Ask the Bookmap team to offer a discount. They often offer discounts of up to 50%.
